// #ZT Channel Rules
Revised by BlakJak 01/2007
We help a lot of people every day. In order to make things easier for the #ZT staff, we have the following set of rules which we ask our visitors to follow. It makes things much easier for everyone involved.
How to get Help:
- The channel is kept moderated (+m) - when you join you will find you won't be able to talk at first. You will be voiced (set mode +v) as soon as a channel op or a helper is available to help you. Guests are voiced in the order they joined (i.e. FIFH: First In First Helped).
- Please be patient whilst waiting for assistance - do not /MSG the channel ops and the helpers.
- When we are finished helping you, please /part the channel so we may concentrate on others.
Conduct when on #ZT:
Helping Guests
Do not try to help others in #ZT unless you are expressly given permission to. The #ZT Staff have all been through training program or are otherwise qualified to help, and are approved by the #ZT Management team. Helping others without permission is a quick way to be removed on a long term basis.
General Conduct
- Be Polite
- Don't DEMAND help (or anything else). We are volunteers and are not under any obligation to assist you - though we will do our best.
- Ask your questions in the open. Don't /MSG any of the Helpers/ChanOps/Opers - this is will push you to the bottom of the queue (or worse).
- No swearing or other potentially offensive language is permitted.
- #ZT does not help channels associated with illegal activities. This means we will have nothing to do with WaReZ, Media or Illegal Pornography.
- No Repeating.
- No Flooding - Therefore, no pasting into channel without express permission. (Logs, when requested, will be handled case by case at the helpers discretion.)
- No Abuse of any sort.
- No Advertising of any sort.
- No Idling. Idlers will be removed and may be banned to prevent them from returning.
- Do not target the channel or its guests with CTCP requests (i.e. PING). This will likely be perceived as flooding and be dealt with as such.
- DON'T USE EXCESSIVE CAPS AS IT IS CONSIDERED TO BE SHOUTING.
- Use correct grammar to the best of your ability. Don't overdo the punctuation. (One or two ! or ? 's will do.)
- Use of Colours or other Text Enhancements are discouraged. Not all IRC clients support these.
Offenders will generally be warned once, kicked the second time, and banned by the third - but ultimately the Channel Ops on duty at the time have the final say.
A Final Note... We're a generally helpful and friendly bunch. Be nice to us and its very likely we'll be nice back to you.
Thanks and welcome to #ZT. We look forward to helping you!
